Catching Up with Technology

Like my grown children, I've decided to join the ever expanding community of bloggers. I'm not sure yet what I'll post on this site; it may just end up as a daily report of the weather in Grafton, Massachusetts or unending stream of consciousness ramblings. At any rate, it's my attempt to progress with the times and communicate with others out there.

For now, I'll begin with the previously mentioned weather report. Here in Grafton, it's a beautiful New England winter day. The temperature is in the 20s on its way to the 30s and the snow from our last blizzard has not yet melted. Next weekend we'll likely have that white Christmas everyone always hopes to see.

For the last couple of weeks the neighbors have been stringing Christmas lights outside and we're beginning to see Christmas trees appearing in livingroom windows. It's a really pretty sight, especially with the snow still on the ground and a full moon shining through the oak tree branches every night this past week.

In the mornings, we see the tracks of deer and squirrels that were left in the snow as they foraged for food. I'll have to protect my rhododendrons and yew bushes. Deer get hungry in the wintertime. It's also time to put more seed in the bird feeder. My cat likes to sit at the window and watch them eat.

From that last paragraph, you may have deduced that Grafton is in the country. You're correct. Although only about 45 miles west of Boston, it's farmland out this way. New housing developments abound, but lot sizes are often an acre in size as is ours. It's nice here. Peaceful.

That's all for now. I won't bore anyone with stream of consciousness. At least not any more than I already have.
